I know I am. I'm just tired of worse and worse movies getting constant praise from the masses. We've had plenty of entertaining superhero movies, I'm by no means a snob in thinking they're all trash. Watchmen, Guardians of the Galaxy, Nolan's Batman (1+2, 3 was meh), The X-Men Movies (1/2/First Class and DOFP) and the first Iron Man. The Avengers just has so much potential, especially with them actually planning for Infinity War, it's huge and it could be amazing. The acting/direction in the first Avengers movie was lazy but tolerable, it was still entertaining enough, it had enough wit to keep me there and it seemed like most of the actors weren't just phoning it in. All I've heard about this new one was it was the exact same shit with bigger explosions and action scenes that just make you sleepy by the end.

I'd just like to see these people put a little more thought into these movies, work the story a bit more and stop only caring about the over-the-top effects to keep people in their seats. It's just lazy and I wish people would stop throwing money at lazy blockbusters, we might actually see some improvement in plot if people could stop being so easily entertained by explosions.

Action movies hardly ever score extremely highly, so it's general knowledge that some aspects such as script and acting are dull. Yet, as there are punch lines in comic books as I understand, it's fairly appropriate that one chuckling one liners can be found in the movie as well, which generally, there are.

It's general knowledge that the movie is dull? Ok, agreed, it's a dull movie. Dull meaning bad, as in no one should watch it.

Reviews are not reliable when it comes to films like these unless the reviewer is independent, if you're working for a paper it's bad for bussiness to shit on something that's guaranteed to be extremly popular.

You just know commercial film critcism is fucking dead when schlock like The Hobbit gets genereally favourable reviews.

Rotten tomatos is a website with pretty harsh reviewers. The avengers 2 was in the 70s last time I checked which is a fair score.

I don't judge all movies by their reviews but it gives me a general idea.

Kayeto, do you know of any superhero action movies that has outstanding acting and a good script? I can think of a couple but in general, that's where they lack.

You guys really need to lighten up. If you want to change Hollywood, go become a director.

All these phrases mean are that you can't accept the fact that movies can be fun as well as intelligently made, but you opt to watch brain rotting trash.

Funny thing is, that is EXACTLY what you're doing - bashing him because he has different standards than you (and calling his taste in movies "trash" is doing just that, BTW).
