3 films rebooting the franchise, not continuing it. That means new actors, new story. Same mythology.
from what i've read it's supposed to work along the show though
i dont trust emmerich though i couldnt find the quote now that he's flip flopped his stance on the show but a few years ago when atlantas and sg1 were running simmultaneous he was talkin shit on the show about how he had the movies planned and the tv show fucked it all up
he had nothing to do with the show at all just the one movie that didnt really do that well

I've actually watched the whole thing. I thought it was mostly badly acted and badly written. I only thought the premisse was decent.
I like scifi. Moon, 2001 Space Odessey , Pandorum, Solaris, Alien, ... all good.
I like drama. Deadwood, La Haine, Der Weisse Band, Cloud Atlas, ...
BSG is just terribad.
i dont believer you man the writing is top knotch
the plot twists and foreshadowing you dont notice til the show has completely turned course... it's an amazing piece man your wasting time trying to knock it. i didnt think you were the type to lie about what you had seen man its obvious you didnt watch it.
bsg approaches so many philosophical issues from so many different perspectives. it's not just one of the best sci fi pieces ever made but, a human interest piece steeped in metaphor and symbolism. it's not star trek or some shit it's true quality writing with some of the deepest character development i've seen in any tv show.
to compare it to "alien" is an insult, for that matter there is no movie that can possibly approach the level of character development in bsg.
