well in response to the new lightsabre serving no purpose  other than looks
the duel lightsabre looks neat but functionally its silly.

think of a bowstaff, cept any time you accidentally hit yourself you lose a limb.
2 lightsabers would be better in every way.

Not that im trying to argue realism in a starwars  movie.

A skilled lightsabre wielder does not cut off their own limbs.

For all the fanboys throwing a fit over the lightsaber.

It's called a crossguard lightsaber. They were introduced in the comics. Albeit with only one extra blade.
The comics are considered canon, so this isn't something out of no where.
As it's been shown in many fights, the blade can slide down and take your hand and that crossguard is meant to deflect it. It can also be used offensively.
Before anyone comments about lightsabers cutting through anything, there are 3 materials that have been implied to stop a lightsaber in the star wars universe.
Phrik, cortosis and mandalorian iron.
Palpatine's lightsaber was made from phrik. So cross sections can made fashioned from those materials and stop a lightsaber blade in it's tracks.
Also note that this is being wielded by a sith lord, so I think he can make it work.

What are the weapons in Old Republic made out of? Mandalorian Iron? I forget the exact name...it starts with an "E." Etherium? Ebonium? Something like that.

Yes the lightsaber is stupid, but oh well. And as far as the person using it 'hurting' themselves. Isn't the villain either all/half/part robot? Searching for Vaders mask?

And the Black Storm Trooper.... I don't see what the big deal is, but yes I understand they are all clones. Ever think that the Storm Trooper they showed is just someone wearing the gear and isn't really a Storm Trooper. I would almost guarantee its Lando's son

The one and only intelligent reply in this entire thread thus far.
Thank you.

Read my earlier post. It does.....it's literally common sense in sword fighting....now it's just more deadly.
