Just like sports. Anything can happen. We'd have to see it to believe it.

50% votes for Drogo? Loool. The Mountain would smash drogo no problem.

8 ft tall monster who's supposedly quick with heavy full plate armour vs a big dude (who is tiny by comparison) with a curved sword and leather armour?

The Mountain could stand still and laugh at Drogo attempting to hurt him with his knife, pick him up with one arm and snap his neck.

It's like European knight vs Japanese Samurai. Knights were medieval tanks, a katana couldn't do damage to a knight, but the knight could 1 hit KO.

But Prince Oberyn > The Mountain. Still butthurt from him losing that fight, clearly superior warrior but let his guard down.

If Mike Tyson beat Tom Cruise to near death but instead of killing Tom, he put his ear to his mouth and Tom stabbed him with a knife (ultimately killing Tyson), that doesn't mean Tom Cruise is a better fighter than Mike Tyson, even though he killed him. It makes Mike an idiot.

You assume from your experience that it is in relation to a redneck vs a what? UFC fighter?
Best example... Vikings vs English... English well trained, better weapons, upon first encounter [and a few others]... the English lost terribly.
Yes in the end the Vikings were pushed back, but we are talking about Mountain vs Drogo on a first encounter.

Another example... Maoris' vs Red Coats, Maoris' won alot of their battles using sticks, stones and bones vs muskets and canons... and the reason why
the western world uses trench warfare in World Wars... because it was adapted from Maoris.

Other than real history points that prove my point that Drogo would have a fighting chance to win the battle, there have been many UFC encounters
where the best has been beaten by a newcomer.

Every combatant knows the golden rule... "NEVER Underestimate your opponent! Nor get ahead of yourself!" ... and those that do, tend to fail.
Only a retard vouch a significant win when they don't know all the facts.

EDIT: try training with Full plate armor and move down to like Chain, Scale to clothing... you will notice that certain weapons are best suited
for armor as well... like normal clothing swinging a 7ft two handed sword and the difference the extra 15kg chain mail gives you.
Clothed = The sword leads you... Chain Mail = You have control [Same base strength]... and Mountains helm should not have been
removed that easily in the match with Oberyn, his head should have been snapped back because of the ties used.

Looks like someone is mad that most people prefer Drogo than his Mountain.

And it also looks like you know alot about warriors, and wound, and fight in general.

I weep for humanity.

And he's still nothing in comparison to what the Mountain actually is lol.

yet iirc Hafþór is still too small to accurately portray The Mountain in the books. (weight and height wise)

Now imagine this big motherfucker wearing 100lbs worth of thick steel armour and still being relatively swift, with a huge ass sword. Khal Drogo wouldn't stand a chance, would be a Challenger II tank vs a Humvee.

People underestimate The Mountain because he got his ass whopped by Prince Oberyn, but a focused Oberyn could probably wreck anyone in Westeros, apart from a prime Ser Baristan Selmy.

Someone arguing for Drogo please tell me wtf he going to do to a massive set of plate mail with an arakh. Gregor could practically be afk and the arakh would have a hard time damaging him.

The question would need to specify some set of armor+ weapon that differs from their normal combat gear for there to even be a discussion.

Has anyone here other than myself ever trained in:

1. Full Plate Armor / Chain Mail / Hard Leather Scale [Romanic and Mongolian] and plain clothing.
2. Two Hand [6,7 & 8 ft], 6-9ft Spear, Single sword, sword and shield, sword and dagger and dual swords [actually short swords known as Gladius]
3. Full out skirmishes, battle placements and also duelling.

If no, you should actually go out there and try it, even the skilled people that have been doing it for years will tell you not to underestimate anyone.
When I first started out in 1997 as a Praetorian guard, see'ing many newcomers and unknowns take out a seasoned trainer.

The show is all fantasy right... so while we sit here surmising based on real life here and now, we know nothing about that world or what each person
can do... so how about everyone stfu, we can not argue something that IS NOT FVCKING REAL WITHOUT EXPERIENCE.

I always find myself believing that this sub can't possibly get any worse. I stick around because I genuinely enjoy movies and I hope that occasionally someone will post something with substance. Instead, I get the kids who suck Michael Bay's dick and have such little common sense that I wonder how they survive on a day to day basis.
