Harry Potter could use a remake in some years, the first set of actors weren't as good as they should've been. Except maybe in the 2 first movies.
I feel like Harry Potter movies only just came out... give it at least another 20 years before they start being remade
Movies I'd like to see remade... the old Terminators, maybe...
Unlike games, movies haven't really changed THAT much over the last decade. Much of thiis is due to the fact that older films were filmed with analog cameras (35mm and even 70mm) which have resolutions WAY above the full HD 1080p standard of blu-ray and 2K digital, and 70mm even surpasses 4K in some regards. analog isn't going to be obsolete even when 8K comes... Maybe 16K.
With that being said all we need is 4K files of older films and we're pretty much set. What's changed is the CGI effects as these are done with digital computers that follows Moore's law (doubling in power every 18 months)
That being said, it would be epic seeing the LOTR trilogy filmed with RED EPIC 5K camera and mastered in 4K 48fps (and 3D for those who care) and all the modern bells and whistles of the Hobbit's CGI.
