Plots are refurbished constantly with new movies.....the avatar plot is a concept and it shouldn't be bashed for having a similar plot to other movies...

I really enjoyed avatar but I can agree that the acting and cast were not anything special.

change the names and avatar is the exact same thing as pocahontas

Ferngully has More of a relation.

In any case, that goes the same with most romantic comedies, bank heist movies, sports movies......need I go on?

Avatar fits two specific movies, that's not bad at all.....

I watched it yesterday.

I will give it a 8,5/10

Some words for my part: (MIGHT CONTAIN SPOILERS!)

I went to the cinema with too much hope I guess, but in overall it was still an AMAZING Godzilla movie. I watched it in 3D, was okay.
Finally another Godzilla movie, where he is actually looking like a "Godzilla". Story was okay. Actors were okay as well.
Soundtrack was good, imo. Fights between monsters were lame in some situation. Visual Effects and Sound Effects were absolutely awesome.
Also the camera perspectives were nice. In the end the story was a bit too much "happy end" and some situations were too obvious… but well…

In combination with the sound effects there were some amazing "goose bumps" cases with a lot of epicness. The audience clapped in some situations, funny hehe.

Well that's my short summary. I liked it, and I could watch it again, though I guess it is way cooler to watch this in the cinema with that epic sound quality.

What about stealing the vehicles directly out of Halo and the mech warriors directly out of the Matrix? I mean the whole thing was cool looking and I enjoyed the movie as a whole. I just think Cameron is an unoriginal fuck who got 90% of his ideas from other people, that paired with the acting made it a 6/10 movie for me.

Seriously go look at the big ship in Avatar and compare it to the Pelican in halo lol.

All in all, I loved it. But there were some plot holes.

People need to relax on judging a movie too fast, and they should take a movie for what it is, in the godzilla case, it's for pure entertainment purpose based on a gigantic dinosaur, and that's what you got to judge it on.

Yeah I agree. Lots of clapping during the obvious scenes where you get very into it. But by far the best part for me was during one of the final fight scenes this guy screamed "C-C-COMBO BREAKER!" And everyone died laughing.

Ready for Xmen Thursday now.

Just watched it yesterday, it was ok, I'd say 7/10 for CGI effects, 5/10 character development and dialogue, 9/10 music and sound effects

hope that helps

I just watched Robocop, another early action film, I don't understand the IMDB rating, really, it delivered on so many levels.

If by levels you mean mediocre-bad acting with a weak story, then yes, it delivered on a lot of levels.
