A lot of people miss the point of Superman. He has all these powers and he isn't human.

But the thing about him is he wants to be human. He does not want the power he has. His powers are a curse to him. He was born into a world where his family and race was dying but grew up and identified with humans but he will never be one of them. And his morality holds back a lot of what he does. He constantly questions whether or not he should ever actually use his powers.

This is where the incompetence comes from. I mean yeah, with the powers he's supposed to have, he should be able to take care of anyone or any threat. But that doesn't make for a good story, whereas his flaws of how he identifies himself does.

That being said, I'm not the biggest fan of Superman because it just doesn't interest me that much. But a lot of people miss the point of Superman.

Don't think he finds it a curse at all... The point of superman is his "learned" humanity. Etc.

What are you going on about? I guess being 20 years our senior made you mildly senile. You said Superman has never killed anyone and he pointed out examples where superman DID kill someone. There's more than 1 instance. That's that. He simply disproved something you claimed about superman. End of discussion.

 you don't get the point do you. He proved himself correct because of new script writers, not what was intended initially for Superman.
And him calling me kid? you missed that?

"Goodnight Marybeth" [The Waltons]

That was an episode of Lois and Clark. :)

Actually I was meaning the 70's original TV series, not the Lois and Clark series or anything from Smallville... but ty for that, I did not see
that Lois and Clark episode either.

The only part of the movie I didn't like was at the beginning the elders of the planet knew that it was going to blow up, and promptly evacuated all of the most wanted criminals on the planet away from it so they could survive

like wtf

but other than that it was a good movie, by far the best superman movie that has been made

From what I gathered, they banished the criminals for their crimes. It kind of felt like they didn't know 100% what to do about the planets destruction, I am not even sure if they believed it could happen, and just went on with life as per usual.

Yeah I didn't particularly care for the old superman movies either, but I guess some fans like the "classic/original" ones better

Well, superman 1 is correct, but 2&3 are horrible.
