I'm well aware of what the storyline was supposed to be, and it was absolute garbage. The acting was horrible, and Leonidas wife (the queen) leading their men in the front of battle killing guys and shit? LOL yeah okay, when the fuck did she become a spartan warrior able to fight in the thick of things? Get the fuck out of here...

There was NO character development, it was just a spinoff movie. Money maker that's all. Highly disappointed.

in the first one leonidas says, you havent seen our spartan women then, meaning they can kick ass too...
acting wasnt that bad, yes there were some corny ass scenes, but it was still a good movie

action scenes were badass...

I agree that action scenes were awesome, but it was just over the top action scenes after a while it got way too repetitive.

There was no character development. Not that the original had the best development either, but you at least got scenes where they'd talk about individual characters and shit.

And the Spartan women could not fight like that, I mean for a woman they could fight but leading guys in battle with no armor or shield? That wouldn't happen, they wouldn't allow her to do that in the first place not a chance. I saw that and was done that was the final straw LOL.

And then the dude rides a horse through the fire on all these burning and crashing boats, goes up to the girl and destroys all of her SOOO dangerous personal guards BY HIMSELF like 1 vs 8? Da fuck...he's not a Spartan...

I can see why the movie got such bad reviews now. IMAX 3D is the only reason I stayed to watch, I was ready to walk out it was such brainless nonsense, just pointless fighting scene after scene.

Horse jump off boat through fire into water without hesitation. Wot

Movie purely made for special effects with a horrible plot. Fight scenes were average, main girl only had good fight scene when she was young and training, when she was older she sucked

So you were OK with a horse going all crazy eyed and stomping on a guys head. Ok with a clearly bullshit scene about some magic pool making an average Xerxes into a giant person in what is supposed to be a historically based story, but women fighting? Fuck that shit right?

Also the girl at the very start has amazing tits.

7/10 worth the watch but not as good as the original. I'm in love with Eva Green so any movie she gets topless in gets a +1 in my book.

I thought it was a great film, worth the watch.

People who are expecting it to be a sequel or who are comparing the both to one another i think are the ones not enjoying it.
Its not the type of film that has character progression just fight scenes and the odd sex scene what you want and expect really.

7/10 id say.

I haven't got around to watching it, but I plan on doing so within the next few days. Hopefully it is as good as the first one was. I'll probably end up having to watch the first one again before I watch the 2nd one because it has been soooo long.
