My theory would be Erica Flynn (a character portrayed by Morena Baccarin)
She fits the bill perfectly, her own personality is similar to Red John's. She has a magnetic charm over people and she can persuade them to do things for their own gain, much like Red John, who has lots of friends.
And the fact that she appears to be attracted to Patrick would explains her obsession with him.
Not only did she used Patrick to escape from prison. but she's one of the few character who was actually smart enough to fool Patrick. (the only other character that comes to mind is Red John).
Now look at this scene, when I first saw this episode, it felt like Patrick was talking directly to Red John.


Like I said it's a theory. And I might be wrong... but Patrick did seem dead set on catching her as well... he hasn't, and the season so far has been focused on Red John.

If you are looking into characters that are have shown to be smarter than jane and have beaten him at his own game you should look into christina frey from season 1. She wtf pwned him.

Don't think it's her. Her character seems too... elegant to be Red John

dont think its her, didnt they announced the physical characteristics of RJ?

It could be a women, however I'm quite positive its not.
There are a few things that points towards Red John being a male:

1) The blind women who got visited by Red John described him as a male.
2) The therapist who got murdered in the latest season also described him as a male.
3) Lorelei (Played by Emmanuelle Chriqui) described him as a male.

Now; We all know that this could have been some of Red Johns associates who did all of this of course.
But if I had to pick a guess, I would say Red John doesn't exist. I think that Red John is a bunch of people.
Some sort of organisation led by many people.

But this is also a wild guess since Lorelei described Red John as a single person.
A lot of people did.

Well i thought that too at first, however i think that they are pushing us to believe this so when they reveal things we could get more suprised. I understand that they probably dont want us to guess who RJ is atm, but RJ should also fit all in last descriptions as well. Otherwise there wouldnt be any point to watch all these episodes.

If Red John isn't a specific person the series is a total failure imo.

yea lol, i wont be satisfied to see RJ being group of people. We do know from old episodes RJ was ordering tons of people to deal with Patrick. Also, he can see through Patrick's mind games as well.

Yes, RJ are a group of people not just one.

Possible, but the one that commits the murder is the same every time as his MO is always identical.

There is no way a bunch of people would be able to copy exactly the same MO. It just can't be.
