Not saying that at all. I understand it's fiction. But, the first 4 seasons felt like the writers were actually trying to make the show appear believable...

EDIT: Don't string me along for 4 seasons with this in mind and then all of the sudden throw in a magical dragon or now dexter has a cloak of invisibility apparently...

Hmmm sorta reminds me of GoT almost... Have a bunch of seasons of people talking and then after enough of that, bring out some dragon battles and white walkers...

That's what happens in the books man. (In regards to got) - and the TV show is only progressing parallel to the books - you seem to be fixated on the fact that HBO are stringing you along using some sort of anticipation method.. It's just the natural progression of the story mate, the books are all POV character centred and filled with details of many many characters, it's not an all out battle 24/7

And yes as seasons in a successful tv progress it's often the case that scripts appear to get lazy, but lets be honest it's just entertaining.. And rightly so dexter is ending. I'd also add that dexter IS also based on a comic book - which is very dark, and has elements of the supernatural.
