Lol, might get those that weren't aware of Peter's contract with the show. Was a good read.

hope i can be strong enough to wait till the entire season is over... then buy drinks snacks for half a day's worth minimum, close the curtains, ambient light in the background, volume to 10 and let's go 11 episodes!

I guess the show has foregone my favourite character, Strong Belwas.

I understand why he wasn't introduced with Selmy. In the book, Selmy was masquerading as a squire for Belwas, but such a ruse wouldn't work on us in the show, because we would simply recognize that he was the same actor as Selmy. So there was no real reason for Belwas to be there.

Still, they could have had Selmy's trick as a plot point without it having to be unknown to us. (Kind of like Caesar in Spartacus.) I think it would have worked.

But oh well. I really hope Strong Belwas is in the show, but just introduced in a different way.I want to see him fight Mereen's champion at the front gates. That was one of my favourite scenes.

eh first episode was alright wish they had something ground breaking added in seeing we've been waiting so damn long.

i guess it just didn't really compare to 27 humans dying in walking dead.

I forgot about him. I'd love to see Belwas and a lot of other characters as well. I always thought that translating the books to screen would be difficult because there are just so many different characters. If I had to guess, Belwas would be one of many to disappear. I think the same might go for certain plot lines too :(

I would rate the first episode as sufficient. It progressed the major plot points of the story well enough. Minor cuttings and movings of stuff.

- Only one set of boobs, didn't waste much time there.
- I was disappointed that Dany didn't reveal to Missande and Kraznik that she actually understood the language they were translating for her. That was a strong moment for her character in the book, it really gave the readers a building sense of her cleverness and her ability to maybe be a competent leader.
- The scene where Jon met Mance was decent, but it's too bad they cut out Mance playing music. That really sold his character's ability to be deceptive for me.
- Tywin's big "fuck you" speech to Tyrion completely lived up to the book version, big props to Charles Dance on that.
- We didn't see any of Arya, Brienne or Bran's stories, but it looks like they were really cramped on time so something had to be pushed to next week.
- The show did a good job moving Davos' story along swiftly yet staying to true to the major events. We didn't see that Melisandre knew he was going there to kill her, so that's a small loss, but I'm not sure if it's all that important in the end.
