x-apple-data-detectors://27/10[/URL] is what I rate this. Unfortunately I went in with too high of expectations and it did not live up to it .
Good
Liked the rey character
Han and chewie were great and of course Harrison Ford out acted the entire cast and really carried the movie
Poe was alright
Visuals and overall setting of the movie was great
Bad
Finn is terrible and his acting over the top
The plot was identical to new hope just switch some characters around
The empire is not imposing at all, kylo ren is made to look like the biggest fucking bitch and so his captain phasma
Way too much comic relief and half of it was from your main antagonist...
Luke's saber somehow survived the toxic surface of bespin?
No mention of any of the planets they travel to except jakkul...
ALSO how the fuck are Rey and Finn magically trained in saber combat and can match a guy who has been trained since birth ?
I agree on Finn's acting..but it could have been worse. I feel like TFA was done similar to ANH to sort of show the audience "look, it's Star Wars - anything George did, we can do better." I enjoyed it. As for the humor, better get used to that - Star Wars is now a Disney production. The rest of the movies will have the same goofy comic relief. I have no response as to how Luke's sabre survived lol. For the final sabre fight: Finn was clearly not trained with the sword. Anybody can pick up a weapon and swing angrily - he didn't put up a fight with that trooper earlier, and lasted like two seconds against Ren. For Rey, she had Jedi training as a child obviously. You heard Snoke say "An awakening has occurred." It occured when Ren tried to read Rey's mind. He accidentally unlocked some of her subconscious training that had been dormant (hence, why she saw glimpses of his past). When he force pushed Rey into the tree at the beginning of the final sabre fight, it awakened all of her training. Think of her as a sleeper agent. Keep in mind, Ren killed ALL of the Jedi when they were children except for Rey and Luke. Ren has had ZERO competition in sabre fighting - he's bound to be rusty. Snoke also says something along the lines of "It's time to complete his training," which will no doubt be teaching Ren (or re-teaching) how to duel. Ren will be a boss in the next movie.
Also, Ren was shot by Chewie's beasty crossbow. You saw the guy basically bleeding out during the duel....this slowed him down a bit.
For Rey, I think she's almost certainly Luke's daughter and maybe Phasma. They kept giving Phasma attention but she never actually did anything. As a child, when Ren went off the deep end and starting slaughtering children, Luke saves her somehow and drops her off on Jakku. Of course, somehow he wiped her memory to make her abilities lie dormant. He did so to keep her hidden from Ren, similarly to how Luke and Leia were split up and hidden as infants.
