They're butchering both Stannis and Dany. Other than that good ep and I'm pleased, but there was no great ending. That Dany scene was just blegh, and Stannis wouldn't sentence Davos to die after having named him his Hand for being able to do the right thing. Stannis is far too villainous whilst Dany is way too much of a goody two-shoes.
Stuff I was really happy with to see: Arya's scene (this was long overdue!), Reek being born, Tywin/Tyrion scenes.
I'm a bit more skeptical on how good they'll be able to do ASOS pt.2/AFFC/ADWD now.
I agree the Dany scene was bleh, but it was in the book. I think she rode into them with a horse and they were feeling her legs, or something like that. But yeah, cheesy both off screen and on.
In the book, Stannis was about to execute Davos. In fact, I think he was about to slice his head off right there (not send him to the dungeon, because he's all honourable like Ned and he's gotta do his executions himself). However, Davos pulled out the letter and read it to him, and that was it. We were left on kind of a cliffhanger wondering if Stannis executed him after all. At least that's how I remember it, maybe I'm wrong.
