If their intent was to kill them all, they would've done so in the tombs (prison) when they threw down the smoke grenade. I know they were gunning for the governor, but he has massive survival instinct and ninja like reflexes plus everyone would foam at the mouth if he just caught a stray bullet in the head when ducking and weaving through cover. They accomplished exactly what they wanted to, scare them off. They essentially had women and children in the first group, did you really think the prison gang would just slaughter them indiscriminately? that would go against everything we've seen and know about them.

Let's face it, people wanted a full bloody war, but then afterwards they would be like "YEAH THAT WAS AWESOME... wait, they killed everyone... now what are they going to do? THIS SUCKS!" so instead they end on a happier note while leaving that unknown glaring in the distance, illustrating the golden theme through the season that you can't do this alone while showing the governor's complete downfall into madness.

I don't agree with this at all. If someone is coming maliciously to cause you harm I'm shooting to kill so they don't kill me or my friends and family(that will definitely drive them out so they don't come back). I don't care if your 5 or 50 a bullet could still do just as much damage.

So many filler episodes leading up to a damn war, and we don't even get one. That is what we call fail.
They keep letting people live, and bites them in the ass later, is also fail.

They would NOT hesitate to kill the prison group if they showed themselves.. really? You want them to leave them alone now?? So dumb.

A happy note? The ending blows, season 4 better be as good as season 1

just wondered if anyone here reads Andy Greenwald's reviews and recaps of TWD, they are pretty hilarious but towards the end you could tell the show was really getting on his nerves.

still, i think he's the best recapper.

This, a thousand times over, this.
they took the shitty way out and had the Gov kill everyone when we pretty much deserved some sort of spectacle in the finale, especially after 6 episodes of Rick doin' stuff and thangs and shots of ghost Lori.

season one was the best because you could feel there was some sort of surprise lurking ahead, that there was always danger around the corner and anyone could be eaten up. plus you had a great locale in downtown/midtown Atlanta. Now its all countryside and farms, while i get budget and timing concerns about locations, it would be nice to see a city again.

i haven't read the books, nor do i intend to, but i have spoiled the show by reading the wiki page on TWD comic and seeing whats next. its not ideal for me, but seeing how the show has taken so little from the source (i think), i hope they can continue and maybe throw some more survival horror in there instead of cheap morality stories, but i guess after all those dead walkers in seasons 1-3 its not exactly interesting to see them die anymore...

btw who is the new showrunner now?

Like the rest of you I find the ending to be very disappointing ...

and Arsenic_Touch, quit being such a fanboy xD - did AMC hire you or something?

nah, it's alright you like the show, but I don't understand how you can defend such a bad ending.

Better watch out, the walking dead fanguards will be attacking you soon for your opinion.

No longer do zombies pose any threat... they are like flies now, just a nuisance... everyone does headshots and are no longer scared....now it's a soap opera... there's so much drama now... that the danger of the WORLD COLLAPSING and the horrors is gone. Now the only threat is stupid madmen that could easily be killed but are left to live to provide fillers.

No mention of why everyone carries the disease..... how the state of the current world is.... nothing relevant anymore to season 1 and how this apocalypse happened or anything.... now it's just mindless bickering back and forth, so boring.

The only time I would defend it, if someone were to just say "this show sucks so fucking hard", and give no further reasoning behind it.

Actually justify why you're saying it's a shitty show, instead of saying rambling about how bad it is without giving any sort of information behind it.

i can understand that perhaps a couple generations later the walkers are just that, bothersome flies, but this is still about 2-3 years after the apocalyptic event so it should still feel raw. remember the homes with rotting bodies and blood-paint and suicide-rather-than-death feel? that was a world that felt like something was lost; the current atmosphere feels like a playground with some zombies scattered around.

im not saying it sucks, i still love the show. i would just like more of a desperate feel to it. no more idyllic farms, no more woodburys and prisons were the only thing to worry about is the smell of your dirty clothes.

im a huge fan of the potential for the series, its just becoming more and more of a chore to watch the constant drama, which i think feels cheap because the backstories havent been fully fleshed out.

also, i mention that i do no read the books.

I'm not directing that comment towards you, it has more to do the with the people who bash the show with no analysis of the show itself.

They also say that they "won't be watching the 4th season" which I beg to differ.
