Finally saw this a few days ago and left the cinema feeling slightly underwhelmed. I was a stern defender of criticism thrown at TFA but damn.
Big question from TFA
Who is snoke? how is he so powerful? (he's extremely powerful, like wtf) how did he rise and rule the first order? - Doesn't matter apparently - the noob gave running commentary on his own ridiculous death.
Kylo Ren is more emo than Peter Parker in spider-man 3. His character is too young, weak, flawed and emotionally erratic to be the central villain in the concluding movie. No idea where they go from here.
Luke, everyone's childhood hero, the one who toppled an empire and restored balance to the force... was a whiney scared shadow of his former self who's lasting legacy was to give some rebel fighters a 2 minute escape window - while offering some cringe tongue in cheek one-liners. His on screen reunion with Carrie had feels though.
I liked his hologram technique and i did get buzzed when he arrived to save the day. I just didn't like what followed.
Is Leia Superman?
Is Rey Superman?
Who are her parents? Quite sure this will still be a big reveal despite Kylo claiming he saw them to be nobodies. Snoke apparently connected their thoughts.. but they still eyeballed each other after his death, so there has to be something connecting them.
Not one single scene with Finn was necessary, he went on an entire side mission and received like, 1/3 of the movies screen time for no real significant reason.
But he was in TFA though right, so let's do something with him - get some giggles.
Poe was cool and carried the movie as much as one character can i guess.
ya man, only thing missing were mickey mouse and goofy in the movie
