There are three things we cry about in life, things that are lost, things that are found, and things that are magnificent.
There is now a fourth thing. When Daryl cries, we all cry. Then we get angry, then we start shooting things.
Merle was a bastard, but he was our bastard and nobody fucks with our bastards.
I will find great satisfaction when the governor finally dies.

I expected the one-handed man to take down droves of the woodbury clowns... only shot 6 or so before he danced with a random zombie and became one after he was done in... hope that the last episode will be more memorable :)

The show needed someone to stir things up a little within Rick's group, so glad to see Merle back, but he had to go. At least he went out fighting

#1- When they were at the CDC, Jenner's visual showed that the zombies are controlled only by their brain stem (the bulk of the brain is inactive). If this is true, then wouldn't it mean that putting a bullet, arrow or axe through the middle/upper/frontal parts of a zombie's brain would not affect it? Many of their "head shots" that take out zombies seem to be in parts of the head that aren't near the brain stem. One clear example of this is in Season 2 When Daryl get knocked out by the river and "sees" Meryl. If you check this scene, it shows a zombie being killed by an arrow through the upper front part of its brain.

#2 - The group seems to often come across zombies that are camped out in an area or trapped in buildings and must have long exhausted their food source. How are their bodies remaining intact? Their biological material should degrade if not being replenished. I don't see how a body could even hold together after being trapped for a month.

Honestly can't remember the specific scans of the brain of the woman turning would have to watch that again, but I seem to remember most of the brain activity being "reborn" hence all the lighting once the human died

Could they not be feeding on eachother? Animals? Rats. Etc

I always wondered this. I guess zombies don't require all the metabolic processes that we do (breathing, skin cell replacement, pumping blood, etc), so they can just lie down and literally expend zero energy. That way they can lie around forever waiting for someone to happen by.

Even expending 0 energy wouldn't prevent organic material from decomposing. After an animal dies, the corpse just sits there doing nothing and falls apart on its own.

They definitely can't eat each other. The ones that are walking around open spaces freely can be feeding on animals, but I'm talking about the ones that are confined in a space. For example, take the incident when Shane and Rick were fighting and Shane threw that big tool at Rick, broke a window then the zombies started pouring out of the building through that window. They couldn't have gotten enough food in that space to keep their cells intact for more than a week.
