I have a bad feeling about Sam... For some reason, I think these crazy old fucks are going to have a pretty harsh punishment, that may even result in death for him going into that section. He's served his purpose, they know where the Dragon glass is now, he's not really needed for anything else, although I'd like him to stick around of course, I just think he'll be one of the fuck you Martin deaths this season, maybe even as early as next episode. We'll see. Its weird, because before, you knew everything was building to something, but you had no idea exactly what or how it'd get there. Now we're starting to see a pretty fucking clear path and it forces the story to be at times predictable. Characters who serve a purpose will only stay alive until their purpose is served, at least that's my guess on it.
Sam has barely scratched the surface of what's going on at the Citadel. Also, he took his father's sword 'Heartsbane' when he left home. That scene was included for a purpose that has not been served.
