Well considering men are the majority of combat roles and jobs in society, and they're naturally stronger. It makes sense for most men to be the a majority of action heroes. Also the majority of action movie fans are men, the majority of Star Wars fans are men.

That's why a lot of female stars are also sex symbols when they're in action movies.

But it doesn't take away from Rey.

As people should know, the Force is its own entity that exists to restore balance in the universe.
If the dark side is substantially stronger, the Force can simply provide more power to the side of the light.

It is completely feasible for Rey to be insanely powerful with the force since there are very few others for the force to be channelled into.

Since she has always used a staff as her weapon of choice anyway, it's not unlikely that she will have at least a base level of skill with a similar melee weapon.
Then you include the guidance of the force and it should be no problem to kill someone that has a hole in their stomach.

Leia was a good portrayal of a female role. She was strong and independent but it wasn't shoved in our face and she wasn't perfect at everything but she had good qualities and bad qualities. She could take care of herself but needed help sometimes too.

Rey was perfect and didn't need help with anything.

Just guidance.
Because she had no idea what she was doing.

Somehow on a junkyard planet Rey learned to become a master duelist, a master mechanic, a master pilot (she clearly cannot afford a ship), speaks droid and understands shryiiwook, becomes a master marksmen after two shots, and manages to do in 20 minutes what took Luke 3 years to do(ESB was 3 years from ANH.)

I'm comparing the notion that men can dodge bullets and can be industructable in many movies. I'm not talking about physical attributes.

Leia was either a sex symbol or a damsel every time she was on screen.

Rey had clearly been training literally her entire fucking life and you are angry that she bested a man even though the man was severely wounded and by all rights shouldn't have even been able to move?

No fuck that right? Calling Kylo out on his bullshit is completely unacceptable because he is a man! He got hit by a shot that literally killed everything else previously hit by it, then he was able to best a storm trooper who had been trained since birth and nearly best a woman who had also been training since birth but it is fine because he is a man!

Fuck you buddy. Just leave.

Your post means nothing because you forgot about kylo being severely injured.....

Also, why is it so hard to believe that someone can pick up the force quickly?.....how long it takes other force users is irrelevant. We don't live in the Star Wars universe, so how would we know? There's no "set time" that it takes someone to accomplish force powers.

Finally, her gender is complete irrelevant. Why can't a girl thrive in a movie without sexist comments? Liam Nesson avoids death in every movie except one and at incredible odds.

Kylo being injured doesn't teach someone how to use mind control before that ever happened. For the first time ever we got a female jedi main character, great. That's a victory for feminism. I'm fine with that. I dont resent that at all. We have 6 previous movies where no one can learn these methods instantly on their own with no training, not even the son of the force himself anakin skywalker. That makes it painfully clear there is an agenda being pushed here and THAT is what I resent. Just tell a great story, leave your agenda out of it. If the main character is a girl, or black, i could care less. That's not a sexist comment that's a legit complaint. There needs to be some explanation forthcoming as to how she knows these techniques, because this movie does not exist by itself, there is an established star wars universe and these new owners should take care in it's continuity.

Training to be a jedi her entire life? She says herself she thought luke skywalker was a myth. Training how to fight? Sure. How to be a jedi? To use mind control and force push objects? No.
