It is the worst. It's the work of untalented writers making their own version and skipping over a book worth of source material in favor of their own ideas. This season is essentially fan fiction.

It started out like the books and gradually got worse as the seasons went on. S1 was quite good, no adaptation is perfect and not everything translates well but they did a good job. Once they began straying from the books was when things started getting worse. Immediate plot holes and silliness. You have casual fans who never read the books watching season five and asking "why are they doing this?" because their inexperience in writing shows when compared to following GRRM's work. For them to claim they were "all caught up" and needed to make original content is laughable. They have skipped so much of AFFC and ADWD or simply changed things around for no reason at all. Entire characters arcs and plots are down the drain for the time being, and how they're doing things in S5 makes a lot of bringing it into the show for S6 impossible or stupid.

When they follow the books and put in a tragic event, you get the red wedding. You have fans surprised, they're shocked, reaction videos all over youtube.
When they make their own tragic events.. they take a tortured character who was finally safe in the books and now learning to play the game and force her into a silly marriage and get her raped and people are disgusted.

lol at this butthurt book readers you meant to enjoy book and the show separately. People need to understand it's not exactly easy to fit entire book into 10 eps so they have to change a lot of things .... Anyone who disgusted by rape sences or their characters die should not watch this show...it's not made for casual sissies

You don't have to be a book reader to see the drop in quality season after season. Nothing in the show even makes sense anymore. Like I said, there are people who never read the books who can see this. And actually, the show is made for casual watchers, it's amongst the most popular shows in the world (if not the most) the majority of viewers are casual watchers.

didnt watch this vid but ep 6 wasn't great ... i totally agree but it still had its moments, i guess they just building up to something epic. If people still get upset for their favourite characters being tortured, raped and killed then they should not watch this show...wasnt it already clear from season 1 ? If story line doesn't make sense to book readers because its not like in the books then sucks for them

It's people like you that let these shambolic writers get away with their idiocy. They have the story they just have to tell the fucking thing. And saying it's hard to fit in a season is complete bollocks. After this season they are either going to have to wait for the world's slowest writer or yolo the story themselves into oblivion. So why not tell the story how it is meant to be told.

This whole season is mediocre at best. It will go something like this:
