How is the theme failure? The Supreme Leader was killed, the entire royal guard was killed, Captain Phasma is killed, the entire First Order rule is in complete disarray, the rebels had significant loses, but they escaped with their general and best fighter, and to top it off, Rey shows up in time to save every single one of the surviving members of the rebellion, with a shocking display of force powers, instantly becoming a new Jedi symbol to rally behind. I figured that would be the story that was being told, but nope, it's the story of Luke being told to promote loyalty to the rebellion, which makes a ton of sense. You gotta imagine the most legendary and well known person in the entire galaxy finally shows up, and the rebellion uses him to cover their asses, while he dies fighting an entire army by himself. How the fuck does this inspire loyalty across the entire galaxy towards the rebellion? It makes no sense.

Everyone is entitled to their opinion of course, I'm not trying to bash you for trying to spin a negative into a positive. To me it felt forced, pointless, and just all around bad. If you found meaning in it that helped you enjoy the movie more, than more fucking power to you, and I'm pumped for you tbh. I'm just too much of cynic to try and spin that shit as a positive lol.

I thought it showed that the huge organized military of the First Order can be beat. The biggest legend in the galaxy just called the First Order bitches right to their face and ended up making them look really weak. It really isn't about loyalty but inspiration to stand up and fight. The man who defeated the Empire gave his life for the Resistance with the whole galaxy watching.

I totally get where you're coming from, and that's clearly what they're going for, but I just don't see it man. I just can't see how anyone could hear this news and be excited about it. Everything about how it was handled would be viewed as a negative from an outside perspective, at least it would imo. Did you hear? Luke Skywalker came back and stood up to the entire First Order! OH WHAT! Luke is back? Well, no, he died, and 2/3 of the rebellion died, and the last 1/3 only escaped because Luke sacrificed himself so that they could. So, you're telling me that the Rebellion was so fucking useless, that Luke Skywalker had to show up himself and fight the entire army by himself, all so a measly third of the rebellion could escape, the same 1/3 of people who couldn't do anything to the First Order, when using a giant fucking fortress at their disposal?

I completely get where you're coming from, I get what they're going for, I just don't buy it, and I can't possibly imagine the oppressed and weak from around the entire galaxy rising up in defense of a rebellion that just got absolutely fucking demolished because of their own incompetence. You know how cynical I can be with this kind of shit lol. No matter what, I still liked the movie okay, but this was another one of those things that I felt was overly convenient, and not at all realistic of what would happen in reality.

Let's also mention that in TFA, 3 planets were blown up by the First Order.

Nobody in the galaxy seems to care about that.

She also failed to give me an erection, but there's still plenty of time.

Just thought of this , but why is the kid at the end supposed to be significant? We already knew anyone can be born with the force, we already know there were a bunch of force users out there i.e Luke's new academy. So why was this supposed to be significant in anyway?
