The guy isn't from the "real world". He's from a fictional world of near god-like bad mother fuckers, and he was apparently the most badass of them all. Only one to ever beat him was his best friend Rhaegar, and I always assumed he let him win. Had Dayne been on the battlefield, I think it's pretty clear that Baratheon would have gotten his shit pushed in lol.

yeah im aware, hope one day we get to see all these legendary fighters outside of a 30 second battle in some sort of prequel series

I want to see the Baratheon v Rhaegar fight, you know that shit had to be epic. 2 strongest fighters in the world (supposedly), dueling it out 1v1 on an epic battlefield. There's so much cool shit they could show, like the fight with the Smiling Knight and all that good shit etc... I wouldn't be surprised at all if they did a prequel series once they finish with this.
