Scroll down to nicknames, it explains it quite well. Just because you think it's stupid does not make it so. And how do you know what every person in the world would call them? especially in a universe where such a thing doesn't exist.
Zombies don't exist in their fictional universe. There was no George A Romero. So if doesn't exist, how would you know what to call it?

I disagree on the "quite well" part. Basically says because some characters thought it sounded funny in the comic they decided never to use that name at all in the show without explanation. If they would have included this important bit of story then it would have made the show as a whole much better understood and realistic to many imo.

The idea of the dead coming back to life is pretty well known in general. Making these myths simply not exist because you don't want the title that comes with it is part of what I find stupid. I wasn't saying they should be called them anything in specific. In a fictional universe where there were no "zombie movies" or not. A passive name like "walkers" I find highly unlikely for everyone to call zombies... As if that is simply what they are generally known as.

This.

Doesn't mean u have to discuss the stupidest shit that is discuss able.

Your opinion has no value to me... If you don't like what I have to say then stfu instead of obviously trying to get a reaction out of me...

Just seems like poor lazy writing to me that they had to go around now for the rest of the series.

You're watching a fictional show in which there are "zombies" or whatever you want to call them. Therefore you gotta have a little bit of an imagination to enjoy this show. So, is it too far of a stretch of imagination to also say that in this fictional universe they don't know or never had/seen/heard the concept of zombies and therefore call whatever these dead things are walkers, biters, etc naming them after what they do?

Anyways, I always assumed when watching this or something zombie related that the concept of zombies was never known to the people plagued by them unless specifically stated.

It is obviously acceptable to me or else I wouldn't watch the show. It does hurt the quality though imo.

Purposely making a show unrealistic in an attempt to make it seem more realistic is just stupid. Would be like having a vampire show where no one has ever heard of vampires so people just called them "biters".

Say hypothetically that making "zombies" unknown as we know them thanks to movies in this show is a "good idea" ,to call them "walkers" is just silly... Say hypothetically there were "zombies" . Not a SINGLE person would call an infected group of people that eat and infect other people "walkers" after any amount of time... "Undead" I would see as acceptable maybe if they really wanted to try and disconnect it from the "zombie" name.

ever consider that the term "zombie" never came to light in their world, its not like it is a complete copy of our world, for all we know, they never had "zombie" movies

You missed my point completely... I already clearly covered that if you read. Whether it hurts the quality of the show or not is only a matter of opinion... That's why I said "imo" at the end of that statement.

Funny how even when I do say "imo" some people like you still say my opinion is wrong as if theirs somehow holds more value lol.

I question how much you actually read before you make another thoughtless post.

doesnt really matter to me what they call them honestly... when i talk with my friends while watching i call them zombies. but it doesnt bother me that they use a different name for the "zombies"
i dont think it reduces quality or anything, but different things will always bother different people

Another fucking page of idiotic posts by you. If george a romero had called zombies , walkers , and the walking dead used the word zombie you'd be like wtf , why aren't they called walkers.

Shut the fuck up.
