Think about it...what enables a vampire to survive? Blood. So they drink blood, how would that blood enable them to survive? Simple: it serves as a replacement for the blood that they would have had in the their veins had they been alive.

- Don't Drink Blood --> No blood in veins --> Veins rub together like sandpaper --> They dessicate and are weak and no longer able to move
- Alternative to not drinking blood? Stop the heart. No blood flow --> Dessication

This show is awesome. IMO better than True Blood and Twilight.

True Blood is too hillbilly and Twilight is too childish. Vampire Diaries is just "cool" and fun to watch.

Vampires are supernatural beings, so human anatomy would be invalid in their case.

So no blood flowing wouldnt affect a Vampire the way I see it.

I agree on the why they drink blood tough. The blood as to come from somewhere as they can't produce it themselves cause dead obviously.

TVD > Underworld > True Blood > Twilight

I like TVD & Underworld because the vampires and werewolves are "cool"
