Barfly (1987)

Love this movie. Love it so much. Between the source material, the casting (Rourke, Dunaway and all the minor roles were cast perfectly), the setting, shot on location in LA featuring a number of cool looking dive bars with that old school 80's neon, etc., etc.

Highly recommended.

I just saw this one in theaters, so damned good, appreciated Morricone's score more on the big screen than the first few times I saw it.

I also got to see The Big Lebowski in theaters. Fucking love this movie. The Internet and the meme culture around this one has made aspects of it super played out but it still holds up for me and seeing it in theaters made a lot about it much better, mainly the soundtrack, which is fucking excellent, and the musical asides throughout the movie which are generally my favorite parts normally.
