I’ve just watched the movie Ready Player One. I really liked the special effects and graphics. The creators managed to convey such an impressive and large-scale virtual world that I wanted to walk along such magnificent streets. The graphics are more like a game, as the virtual world in this film represents the game. These are the stories I like, in this film there is not only great graphics, but also there is a semantic load, intrigue, there is a love line that smoothly flows through the entire film. Everything was enough for me - and the entertainment, the scale of the world of "Oasis", there was fullness and a sense of integrity, and humor did not disappoint. On top of that, I liked the actors' play, everything is organic and appropriate.

The movie was ass and like most adaptations they took a massive shit over the source material.

The entire movie is based off the entire world being too stupid to try going backwards once in a racing game for five years, and that the person in charge of the most powerful company in the world is more incompetent than a Disney villain.

yes that movie was insanely disappointing... i read the book because it sounded interesting and parts were ok, but i could write and essay on how bad the movie was even though it had an epic budget and crew and cast... and its sad that a lot of people seemed to like it

That's what I don't get. I understand completely that reading the book gave me a certain bias towards the film and I most likely would have tolerated it more had I not, but I can't fathom how anyone saw that movie and thought it was anything other than crap.

That being said, the two things I mentioned already should be enough for anyone to lose interest. It was nothing but flashing lights and pretty images. Horrible acting, horrible story, horrible antagonist and protagonist, and a god awful script. It was such a bad film and it bothers me that it was received positively by anyone, since that tells them this type of garbage is what people want. It was as soulless and pointless as Fast and the Furious, Transformers or any Michael Bayesque shit show

yup, and with an insane budget, directed by spielberg, with source material that was already made to be turned into a film perfect for nerds (with the screenplay cowritten by the original author? how did he let that happen to his work?) but was instead turned into a cgi blockbuster for kids... crazy to me and yes so sad that its success is a sign of the times

“Drive”

Solid movie. Good performances, I enjoyed the way they shot the movie. I’m going to read the book now
