Luke was the exact same as Rey in the original trilogy....
Exactly. Instead of coming up with a new character apart of a new story, they re-hashed exactly what they did with Luke in ANH. Person stuck on a dessert planet, dreaming of something greater, doesn’t know who parents are, stumbles across a droid with secret intel critical to a rebellion, turns out to be incredibly powerful. That’s the problem. It was exactly the same. Albeit we learn about it after the fact, however at least with Luke there’s an understand of okay, Luke’s dad was literally the chosen one, so it makes sense why he’d be so strong in the force. With Rey they pulled some shit out of their ass, with the “she’s the granddaughter of “X” to make it even somewhat believable. Besides, being related to “X” doesn’t make up for Rey, who has never been trained, ever, defeating Kylo who had been trained by Luke for like 12 years before turning to the Dark Side.

In Poe's case how is a character learning from his mistakes and developing a bad thing....using that to say the movie is bad is beyond stupid.
Just like how Rey is a poor mans Luke, Poe is a poor mans version of Han. Cocky, talented pilot who does things his own way, has a checkered pass, & is buddies with the main character. Besides being another copy of the OT, Poe is much less cool & likeable
as a character compared to Han.

The original trilogy had them blow up a death star with a single missile....yeah dude using lightspeed to blow up ships is so stupid
Well, Luke did that, using the Force. However the issue is if that was always an option, the Death Star could have been handled the same way, so the main problem becomes not so big of a problem. Planet-killer-weapon ? No biggie, have a ship crash into it at light speed, problem solved.

Snoke dying was literally no different than Darth Maul, Gran Moff Tarkin, or any other random villain dying.
Wrong. Neither Maul nor Tarkin were the main protagonist. Nor were they set up to be some incredibly mysterious, powerful entity before being easily killed.

Maybe if the new trilogy had 2 foot tall bears defeat the first order it would have been better.....or aliens that live underwater and are borderline mentally retarded that can stumble around and accidentally destroy an entire army....yeah TLJ sure was worse than those movies .
Everyone has different opinions, & that’s fine. However you’re in the vast minority thinking the ST > PT. I even saw a poll recently where like 200k voted, & had RotS as their favorite SW movie.
