Mind fucking blown...

I'm started reading the books last week and was real close to the red wedding chapter. Now wonder if I should have read it first.

For those who want a new desktop background, I've had this one as mine since I finished ASOS:

Didn't blow my mind. (and I haven't read the books)

I could see that coming a mile away.

Starks have always been pretty dumb. We saw how badly that rob was losing the war & married a dumb twit. Didn't listen to his mom.
It was just icing on his shit cake lol.

Tho I will admit that I didn't see Bolton killing him. I thought it would be the older man. (tho I suppose it sort of was him in a sense)

IMO everyone needs to die. Was good episode, but there needs to be a scene like the prom from Carrie.

It's funny how people want Danaerys to come "avenge the Starks" or some such thing. She hates the Starks just as much as the Lannisters because they were equal agents for the Baratheons in her eyes. And if she comes across the seas to claim the throne, it won't be some great justice served, just tens of thousands more peasants and conscripted soldiers meeting gruesome ends because highborn families have royal disputes. As awesome as Dany and her chapters are right now, I don't see how anyone can sympathize with her cause right now. In the books, I never really started sympathizing with her cause until the end of book 3/beginning of book 5.

The Red Wedding threw a bit of a curveball for us readers. Adding that sudden and bloody abortion and shanking of Talisa was entirely new, and threw me back like "WTF"! In the books, they just capture Robb's wife (Jeyne) and engage her to Ramsay Bolton some time later.

One of my favorite parts of yesterday's episode was Arya's conversation with Sandor after he knocked that old guy out. That part was really well played on both sides.

I'm still not fully won over by dany. She has always flip flopped between badass and whiny. I think the show has been portraying her more as a badass though. But I agree, she isn't going to avenge the Starks. I do hope there is some master plan with the Starks though where they ultimately win the game of thrones in some way or another. The whole story started with them, their family history is rich with detail, they have actual wolves that were meant for them and may or may not be able to warg into them. There's just too much depth and story to the Starks for them not to come out on top one way or another. But I guess we will see.

Not exactly. It was Jeyne Poole who married Ramsay. Jeyne Westerling is allegedly chilling at Riverrun or possibly MIA, depending on which theory you believe.
