I watched the James Gunn clip it's pretty clear he visibly enjoys shock-value comedy and was saying that to be as crass as possible. Also Cuties is a genuinely interesting movie beyond all the media hate it got for being some awful pedo movie. It's not a great movie but it's not at all what the media portrayed it to be.
