I thought the movie was great. Found it truly enjoyable.
I didn’t mind the length at all, but I could see that as being valid argument for the movie in a negative way.
As far as the Bruce comments I saw a few times here already. That doesn’t bother me either. I didn’t miss the ‘playboy billionaire’ Bruce Wayne. I like the angle that was taken in the movie in regards to that storyline.
As far as trying to make it an R rated movie. Sure it could have opened up possibilities for the darkness and evilness of the villain, but you got to understand super hero movies are still targeted for kids. And a movie like this needs that audience to make money. Yeah Deadpool was fun and R and everything, but a big character like Batman is too popular for a R rated movie.
So they teased the joker, and it was short so that’s good I enjoyed it. I also saw the joker scene that was cut from the film where Batman converses with him for help in finding the Riddler. And to be honest it was also great. But I’m just over the Joker at this time and all it’s installments. Obviously nothing will ever best Ledger. Phoenix was amazing as a stand alone Joker and was well deserving of an Oscar. Nicholson was classic and OG joker. Suicide squad Leto was an abomination. But Leto redeemed himself in Snyder Cut. I just want to see new villains for once. Keep going with the Penguin angle. Or bring in Twoface or Madhatter or something. They could be good in this universe.
Over all I think 8/10 for this version.
I agree completely about the new villains, there are plenty to choose from who would adapt well to live action. Professor pyg is probably the minor villain I want to see most, though that wouldn’t be too far removed from the riddler in this movie
