I mean the question I was trying to answer isn't "what recent year has the best top 5 list" but "what recent year was a really good year for movies" meaning not just 5 good movies, but a large number of consistently good movies.

You might like the top 5 movies of 2014 more than the top 5 of 2015 but I don't see how you can argue that 2015 doesn't have an actually insanely good top like 20-25 list.

In terms of both quality and quantity 2015 was a damn good year for movies.

Also not saying that 2014 wasn't a good year.

I mean American sniper, gone girl, grand Budapest hotel, Birdman. Just to add a few to your list.

2015 is more recent than 2014 so it's the user I showcased.

2016-2018(so far) have had like 4-6 movies each that I actually care about.

If you're gonna go by the best year. Then I have to say without a doubt it was 2012, that year was simply incredible in my opinion.

You need to read as well then. Like the first post. Where I said in large caps I am on pain killers right now, because I had to have two teeth pulled and my neck drained the other day. Had a serious infection in my tooth. So I am not all here at thw moment.

I'm trying to say the most recent year that actually was good for movies. I think it's 2015.

Not saying previous years weren't good/better. Saying 2016-2018 was garbage.

Sicario 2 and Equalizer 2 and spy who dumped me, haven't seen so they get their own category for now.

Everything else was fucking garbage.

2017 had less than 20 movies worth watching, take away Netflix (theater release only films) and it's less than 15.

2016 had maybe 15? Including Netflix?
