I think if this was called anything but Jumanji then people wouldn't be so upset.
Could be a decent action comedy.

Welcome to 2017 where a movie production company gets praise for not copying the source material 1 to 1 for their money making machinery.

I mean I am not going to see it because it looks awful but you shouldn't lower your standards to such an extent.

There's no passion it's just making money. Whether it's a grocery store movie game or just anything all that matters is how much money its gonna cost and how much you going to tö make. Jumanji is a very good.movie that pretty much every kid born in the 80/90s grew up with and now they're in their 20s/30s so they'll take their kids tö the theater to see it with them and the rock is just insanely popular people will buy tickets just to see him. Just try to watch it as if it was any other movie and I'm sure it'll be entertaining

You must think the last few fast and furious movies were amazing huh.

Also to the people who think this ruins the first movie, how? How does it at all touch the first? The first will still be a great movie.

The only classic movie that has been ruined by future content is Alien. Prometheus and Covenant giving origin to the Xenomorphs by human activity has actually retroactively ruined the entire Alien franchise as the first two (aka the good ones) heavily based themselves on the Xenomorphs being these scary/creepy unknown predators. That entire element get fucked by Ridley Scott's new movies.

Other than that I can't think of a single other example of when someone has actually managed to wreck a classic.

I want to see this I think it looks funny. With that being said it's so not like jumanji at all I wish they didn't take the name and I wish they would make a new one more true to the old one. I loved the original

idk what their thought is but whenever theres a reboot and i get butthurt its because the original was already so good and kids are going to grow up with the sequel. but lets be honest kids probably couldnt care less and can still grow up and watch the originals and appreciate it.
like with jurassic world vs jurassic park im glad i grew up with park. i remember i was over a friends house watching the thing [2011] and his dad came down talking shit on it and made us watch the original one and im kinda glad he did but the newer the thing was still not all that bad.
at the end of the day theyre just movies and different visionaries are allowed to show their visions of the same thing.
