Thought the season was weak on the whole. Took a step too far in the direction of ridiculousness.

Meh, it wasn't perfect, but it was good.

I was slightly disappointed with the final episode, but felt that as a whole, season 4 was better than season 3 and on par with season 1. End of episode 2 (season 4), pretty equivalent in awesome to end of episode 3 (season 1). I knew nothing would ever be as good as season 2 and I had already accepted that, but somehow I was still fucking hoping that it'd happen. I liked the whole episode until the twist right at the end. I agree, it was too much on the side of ridiculousness and it hurt the finale and the whole season just a little bit. Still, I thought it was enjoyable and another entertaining season for one of my favorite shows. I could just watch season 1-2 over and over again and be completely content though, shit was too good.

I watch Elementary, Sherlock telling the Crown to go FO seems more likely. :D

Elementary is the poor man's Sherlock.

While it'd be more likely for Sherlock to tell people to fuck off, he never would if the case was actually interesting to him. That's all there is to Sherlock. If it seems like a challenge to him, or something that'll at least alleviate his boredom, he'll do it, regardless of what he has to do to get the case.

Ill take Jonny Lee Miller in a fight over Benedict Cumberbatch any day, plus he was screwing Angelina Jolie - quite the notch in your bedpost.
Plus you know Benedict Cumberbatch in Sherlock is just the gay version of Dr Who.

I mean.... none of those things are at all relevant. Sherlock is just a better show. It's got better writing, better characters, much better acting, and the it's impossible to compare with the Moriaty in Sherlock, he was just perfect.

Have you even watched it yet? I recommend you finish Elementary first, because you won't be able to go back after you've seen the good version.

Yes i've seen it, it was to British for me. Probably depends on which you saw first. I like the characters in Elementary - i like Sherlock being a rude recovering drug addict who hates everyone and talks like words have an expiry date.
I dont know how you call a show with 13 episodes in its 4th season though, Elementary does 24 shows a season - crushing all the competitors!

Id love to see a good old fashioned Boxing match between the two - English Gentleman rules of course.

Lol.

I understand the too British thing, and I generally do dislike British shows, but this one is just too damn good.

Cumberbatch is also a recovering drug addict who still goes on benders from time to time, it's just part of his character. He also despises everyone and treats everyone he encounters like they're either just puzzle pieces in his games or dispensable garbage that he doesn't even bother conversing with. All besides Watson of course, the only person he cares about. Freeman was also a terrific choice for Watson, he's a fantastic actor and plays the character perfectly.

While I do dislike the limited number of episodes, I prefer their approach over the 20+ episodes a season approach. With such few episodes, you are almost guaranteed that each and every episode is going to be phenomenal, unlike Elementary, where at least half the episodes you want to turn off within the first 20 minutes because of them being either boring or all too predictable. It's an enjoyable show, but it really is a dumbed down version of the British version.

You do realize they're both pretty boy actors right? The only loser in a fight between the two would be the spectators who had to suffer through watching such a shitty match lol.

but but but Jonny has real tatoos......, thats some dark history there

Maybe Benedict is ok, but hes had so many roles where he plays kinda unlikable characters:

like Alan Turing in the Imitation Game, Dr Stange, Billy Bulger, he played the bad guy in star trek, the hobbit, 12 years a slave.

Id probably like him IRL but I've never seen him in an interview, so maybe if he seemed more down to earth

He plays a good villain, he was amazing as Khan and one of the VERY few good things about the Hobbit. Haven't seen Dr. Strange or the Imitation Game yet. Watch it if you haven't, just get through the first season and then come and tell me that you think Elementary is better. There's just no possible way that should happen after you've seen Moriarty.
