I think Cersei would be a contender. But I feel Jamie will kill her, as someone else mentioned poetic justice and all that.

yes, the book drops some heavy clues that Jamie will be the one

Bonus points: who will rule westeros at the end of season 7?

Well, its a matter of semantics. How do you define 'rule'? Who rules Westeros now?

* Cersei is wearing a crown, but she has less power than ever.
* The Northern houses recognize Jon as their king. He has fewer subjects than Cersei, but his subjects are actually willing to accept his leadership, so you could argue he has more power than Cersei.
* North of The Wall is technically part of the continent of Westeros and neither of the 2 people above rule there. Same logic applies to Dorne.
* And lastly we have Baelish. He probably has the most influence over all the people in Westeros. But maybe that doesn't really count as 'ruling'.

I could see little finger taking the throne. Little finger alone or with Sansa as queen. Or Sansa could kill him.

Sansa killing him is far more likely than him taking the throne. Not sure why anyone believes he will end up in a position of power come the end of this show. He fights for himself, he's fucked over far too many people, and his sins without a doubt will catch up to him in the end. There's only a few characters left that HAVE TO DIE, and he's pretty fucking high on that list. Plenty more people who don't need to die will, because it's GRRM, but people like him Cersei, The Mountain, and Euron will die without fail. I don't think it's going to be a happy ending, but I'm almost positive the majority of people who deserve to die will finally get their comeuppance.

Even though I was joking about Robin taking the Iron Throne, that's the only way I could see Littlefinger rising to power. Since he's not from a great house that rules over one of the Seven Kingdoms, that's pretty much the closest he can realistically get to the throne. Sansa isn't a stupid little girl any more; she understands how dangerous Baelish is and will never marry him. Same thing goes for Cersei; and Tyrion and Varys will keep Daenerys away from him as well.

Robin on the other hand could be offered to Cersei as husband, who might accept in hopes of being able to manipulate the stupid kid (underestimating the influence Baelish has over him). This could lead to a Lannister-Arryn-Tully alliance, potentially supported by Euron Greyjoy (since his nephews have sided with Daenerys), and backed by Littlefinger's power. If he can keep the North and the Stormlands at least from joining Daenerys (they both have issues with the Targaryen, so that could happen despite their despise for Cersei), that could be enough to put up at least a decent fight against the Targaryen-Tyrrell-Martell alliance.

I really doubt that will happen though... and like I said I was mostly joking about Robin, but this is probably Cersei's best chance.

Yea he's fucked over everyone. That's politics. That's the game.
Thinking his sins will eventually catch up with him, just because he is a bad man, is naieve.

Ilyn Payne was the man who executed her father. He's had real life health issues and hasn't been on since season 2, but has been mentioned couple times since. So it would be easy to bring him back quickly for her to satisfy that loose end.

Beric may be a choice since the brotherhood have come back. Even if she finds out Gendry is actually alive she may still kill him out of spite, though he can be revived.

I think Cersei would be a contender. But I feel Jamie will kill her, as someone else mentioned poetic justice and all that.

How much I would love for her to kill Frankenmountain and then Cersei, I agree Jamie will do it. I agree with Zark that she will leave Kings Landing for last and will reunite with Jon and Sansa first, encountering either Melisandre/the Hound on her way but not killing her/him.

Thinking that this isn't going to end with almost everyone dying is exponentially more naive. Go get a couple thousand fg and I'll make a 2 year bet with you right now that he dies.

Does becoming a White Walker count as dying?
