The Day the Earth Stood Still(1951)
War of the Worlds(1953)
Invasion of the Body Snatchers (three versions - all pretty good)
Blade Runner
They Live

Blade runner was a good movie, although I most likely won't watch any movies pre 2000.

So far I've watched Snowpiercer and Source code. Enjoyed both of them. Source code reminds me of edge of tomorrow.

I wouldn't trust the opinion of anything a gen Z says , i think the Z stands for Zombie.

ah, ok. After reading that, I think I have a better idea of how your first post was a little misleading. Let's reevaluate it:

What are some bad brainless, CGI action sci fi movies? I would name the ones I've seen, but I have seen so many.

If you had posted that version at first, I think the responses you got would have been more helpful to you. You would have gotten what you were looking for.

There were quite a few good ones mentioned ;P
The old ones are alright, but the visuals hurt them a lot for me at least.

Some of the older ones were way ahead of their time and the visuals (for the most part) would still hold up today.

Terminator 2 was made like 22 years ago or something? Mental how good that film still looks.

2001 ASO was made in like 1968...Before man had landed on the moon and still stunning considering the technology limitations Kubrick had to work with back then. The first shot of space in that movie is STILL breathtaking :)

But like someone mentioned already it's certainly not for everybody, and it's nothing at all like your typical space/scifi movie in terms of plot/characters/action etc

Blade Runner has 3 versions - the original 1982 version , the director's cut and The Final Cut, all are good but slightly different - if you get the Final Cut - its updated with nice graphics and is full hd and its really stood up to time pretty well.
The main difference between the 3 versions is that the first one every scene was fully explained by Harrison Ford's constant narration, and that is completely removed in the Final Cut.
