The Bohemian rhapsody trailer is probably one of the best trailers ever put together in the history of film. It is amazingly well done, had a lot if Easter eggs, displays the tone of the film and gives absolutely none of the plot away.
And it was obvious for anyone who knows anything about trailers, that that was literally the best this movie was going to get. That's a huge problem.... It's a simple tactic a lot of sub-par big budget films are using these days. Release an epic teaser trailer that you know doesn't capture the essence of your movie at all, from there, just keep releasing more and more shit content and the hype train is already too big to deter the average moviegoer. I could be wrong, this movie could turn out fantastic, I've been wrong plenty of times before. However, everything I've seen has lead me to believe that it's going to be a disaster. Casting seems bad, Smith is historically bad, and everything about it just has a cheesy feel to it... Not a good mix when your very first trailer tried to portray it as something dark and thought provoking.
