without knowing they could make another movie I don't think it was possible to make a 2 and a half hour movie and lay as much ground work as needed.

Then again it may have worked for a wider audience if they had tried. but I played wow and had an idea what was going on even with the numerous changes they made, I liked it.

The game sucks, I didn't read the books [if any]... why the fuck would I try to have a clue to people that like the game, played the game, read the books and agree with their mentality... I wouldn't and I don't, the movie was fine for what it was... just a typical movie based off of a game... shit it isn't rocket science is it.

Well they completely ignored the shadow council so that fucks over a lot of Warcraft lore. The time they doesn't trying to give granora a shitty personality and love plot would have been better spent on the council.

Also fuck the guy who said the games are bad. Wc1+2+3+tft are some of the best games ever made.

character development was a little weak. that was actually my first gripe when i was discussing my thoughts on the film afterwards. (still freaking loved it though)
it's hard to say why they did this, but really i think in a 2 hour film that they were hoping would appeal to non-warcraft fans as well as fans, they had to cram in more action for the non-fans, and maybe just rolled with the idea that the fans already knew the characters well enough.
i really think it's just a time thing. i mean think of future films and how many crucial lore characters are yet untouched... would be a stupidly long movie to develop them all. i think they will settle with just establishing kind of the heart of each character and what drives them, then spend the rest of the time on action and historical motions.

Sorry to say it, but Warcraft sucked, it was boring, shit even Civilization 1 was better to play.
