To be honest, those programs are not even in the contention of watching Dr Who from 1963... I was born in 1966 and some of those episodes ran and I had nightmares
watching them... keep in mind that at that time, black and white TV shows with those special effects was like watching 2015+ motion pictures today.
Now, I am old as you can tell, so an old family show that I loved watching outside of the Western series was "The Waltons" ... and in the 70s I used to watch the early season programs
of Superman... which by my calculation is not available to watch even on the internet... but if they are... it is a real laugh to watch em.
as a whovian who didn't find it until the 2000 revamp i'm super jealous

this is one thing i have enjoyed while watching some of the older shows like MASH, Cheers, Twilight Zone, Happy Days, Gilligan's Island and early Seinfeld
the archetype episodes, the cultural growth, male/female roles, tv as a means to express political and cultural turmoil et al. along with simply the film and camera techniques ever changing
as that other guy said you will see all this to the highest degree in dr who. the show is now and has always been on the cutting edge of technology. and due to the nature of the show unlike anything else you will be exposed to changing hopes for the future and changing views on history.
