Because you want to watch a nieche film and don't know anyone who's interested in film?

More important question, why would I want to drag my friends who enjoy Marvel films and cartoons to a showing of obscure arthouse films or silent films when they lack the ability to enjoy these type of films?

Yeah for very popular films that almost everyone can enjoy it'd feel pretty dumb to go alone, I have to agree with you there!
