The Thing was made 3x, which one did you like the best? I love the Kurt one but I kinda like the last one too.

No one has mentioned The Shining or Rosemary's Baby - which were pretty great but not the scary horror kind - more like the thriller horror kind.

Another film I loved was Idle Hands with Jessica Alba, that was pure ridiculous comedy horror and Evil Dead 2 which was gore Horror with lots of comedy, but both were pretty awesome.

The 1982 Carpenter version.

So overrated

People go on and on about the atmosphere, sure it makes you think about being paranoid for a bit, for like 5-10 minutes but then almost cancels itself out as you spend the rest of the time thinking about what the characters should/would have been doing in that situation, then maybe if there was a good horror film ontop of this but the thing is a joke besides it's obvious ability

Don't get me wrong its good film just not that special for me

this list looks pretty good btw

Speaking of John Carpenter, he really deserve some special award for his awesomeness.

Too many good film he's written or directed to list them all, any of his films should be considered as they all have some scary parts, or just general uneasiness.

For horror fans there is also this website - thats pretty good
