lol'd at this comment

well you do realise it was explained in the film? the nasa program was shut down and stopped receiving funding to expand
why would anyone drive expensive cars when the economy is fucked and there is no food on the planet?

not saying that im a huge fan of the film, but ur reasons for not liking it are pretty stupid and not even plot holes in the film

That was not the main reason...film is typical Hollywood garbage, nothing new in it

although you are entitled to your own opinion im sure a vast majority would disagree with that comment. It is a Christopher Nolan film and I do not think anything he does can be called garbage.

lame movie

I never write movie reviews, but this one was so ridiculous and sloppy, I can't help it. The giant black hole is just a symbol for the immense number of PLOT holes in this monstrosity. I understand that it's science fiction, so can't be fully held to a the standard of true science, but logic and consistency would be nice. Most films in this genre set up - by way of thoughtful plot elements or interesting dialogue - the parameters by which the necessary version of "science" will work within the context of that story. Not so here. "Science" is used haphazardly, with issues such as time dilation appearing almost at random, whenever it seems to make the plot marginally more interesting. Plus, none of the characters are at all provocative, or even realistic. (Spoiler alert) MM's character is living in the Grapes of Wrath, then comes face to face with a secret version of NASA, is asked to pilot a secret mission of unknown duration to unknown origins in order to save the earth....and he basically goes home, packs a duffle bag, and leaves. What?! He can't event spare the time for a last meal with his family. And there was no training period or anything? Medical exam? Nope. Just utter silliness. And, (BIG SPOILER ALERT) anyone who didn't figure out that Murph's ghost was her dad is just plain not paying attention. That was no sort of plot twist at all. Boo! Three hours of my life wasted! Can't figure out why anyone thought this was cool!

A "blight" that has the power to wipe out every edible plant, worldwide, simultaneously...but only one species at a time...
What about all of the food in the ocean? Did everyone forget how to build a greenhouse? Crop rotation? Micro-farming?
No one had an alternative? When the first billion died, NO ONE thought about doing anything differently?
EVERY person on the planet was willing to give up science and brainwash their children into denying history?
They ALL then chose to plod along together to their death without ANYONE looking for a solution?
Oh wait, there is the handful of secret scientists who focus all of their energy and meager resources on the massive effort of getting off the planet.
That's the easiest solution for sure, what a relief.....illogical, inconsistent, unbelievable (even with suspension), sappy, tedious, insulting.....
TARS is the best character.

Dark Knight Rises is complete trash all the way through, the only good thing about it is the opening scene which is particularily awful but in a comedic way.

It was better than I anticipated. I haven't gotten choked up in a movie in a long time, took every ounce of control to fight back the tears during the bookcase scene.

Nolan is a fantastic director, I don't know why I ever expected anything less from him. Damon's role was phenomenal as well, it was weird seeing him as such a little shit, just an odd role but he pulled it off perfectly.

This. Even his worst movies are above average.

Nolan hasn't done a bad movie. Dark Knight Rises was not great but I don't see how you could possibly say that overall it was a bad movie. Definitely the low point in the trilogy for me but it was still enjoyable, Hardy was amazing as Bane, Levitt did a good job, Oldman and Cane are always good. 6.5 maybe 7/10 movie. Definitely felt let down in comparison to how good the Dark Knight was but honestly, how could you say it was awful?

Nolan is an amazing director, I don't know why anyone would disagree with that, just look at what he's done so far.

Memento - 8/10 movie, I really enjoyed it. Couple of things about it irritated me when I first saw it and still do but it was a good movie.

Insomnia - Entertaining movie, probably my least favorite of his.

Batman Begins - Ballsy move, taking up after the shit we'd had the past few movies and actually giving us something we could all get behind. Casting was great (besides Holmes, I hate her in everything) and he always gets exactly what he needs from everyone. Not to mention that he's the one who got Superhero movies going back to having a darkness to them. Marvel/DC characters are not one dimensional little perfect fuck-boys that Hollywood tried to make them in the start. I'm glad someone had the balls to do it right.

The Prestige - My favorite Nolan movie, doesn't need any explanation as to why.

The Dark Knight - This and Watchmen are without a doubt my two favorite superhero movies.

Inception - A lot of dumb people didn't understand it and a lot of elitist movie goers hated it because of it's simplicity. I thought it was right in the middle, it wasn't at all difficult to follow but it was imaginative and it was executed well. Great cast, phenomenal job by DiCaprio as always.

Dark Knight Rises - Just barely above Insomnia for me. The worst of the Batman movies and not a strong overall delivery, it was still entertaining and enjoyable. I'd really like to hear your thoughts on what made it garbage exactly.

Interstellar - I don't easily get choked up in movies, regardless of the content. It hit home with me. I do believe the world is dying and I though Nolan's take on our future was fascinating. Couple plot-holes but all around it was an enjoyable movie that had powerful delivery on everything. Also not sure how you could say this movie was actually bad. I could see you thinking it's overrated, which is fine, just bad is stretching helllllla deep lol.

While some of Nolan's other films may have been ok at best, interstellar was an easy 1/4 stars. I wrote a fairly long review on the last page.
