Rita's death surprised me the most out of any tv show I've ever watched.
I just didn't see it coming at all.

He plays the role perfectly, that's for sure.

I don't remember since I started watching Dexter only like a year or two ago...but didn't the show also get hit by the writer's strike after season 4?

He didn't, did you not watch the very very end?? He's off in some random place with a beard living in a shack working as a lumberjack or some shit, he cut himself off from the rest of the world (I personally think as a punishment to himself for all he did to the innocent people who's lives were destroyed just by association)
