Thank you for making this thread. Just watched it. Mind blown. Though I did start putting the pieces together pretty early about what was happening. Still a great movie.

It was only one night. And when She meets 'John', John has been 'John' for years. When 'Jane' first begins turning into 'John' it takes time to reach what 'John' looked like when she met him. So over time you aren't thinking about that. Plus with all the surgeries and medicine she would be on + her wanting to forget 'John', its not hard to understand why she would not recognize she became him. And even if she did think she was turning into him.... that would not make sense to a person. You wouldn't think 'the future me fucked me when I was a girl'

Under emotional duress, you might consider their brief acquaintance to be something hard to exactly remember perfectly, without a photograph. Granted the timeframe was pretty far apart. There were moments where she flashbacked and she imagined someone else's face, which the person who portrayed the flashback character was quite a bit more handsome than her future self.

more importantly did she not notice the horrible scars in important places, then notice that she gets the same scars like a year later

anyway it was a really cool movie, however they didn't seem to know when people would figure out the plot so kept laying it out more and more clearly, i felt the best time to put it together would have been right at the end with the montage but most people would have figured it out by then

honestly i felt like it relied too heavily on "just go with it" tactics.

short of amnesia i don't see any realistic or even plausible reason she wouldn't realize it was her.

movie felt like it was trying to be the next inception with less explanation(overly explaining stuff is like the main nag point most people have for inception).

also the second the gender stuff came to light i knew exactly where the movie was going.

This movie is filled with fallacies and plotholes everywhere it's better not to think about it too much, for example if he has to kill the bomber to become the bomber well how did he become the bomber in the first place? or how did he come to live in the first place if he is his own parent? before timetravel who gave birth to him?

Overall I found this movie very entertaining but not very memorable, some of the dialogue was truly shit-tier and every last event was aimed only to move the plot forward, it's hard to relate to the characters in movies like that.
Not bad though so gets a 6 / 10 in my book, everyone who likes this should watch Memento, slower pacing but does this much better.

Only way this movie is plausable [sp], is if they incorporated dimension shift intertwined [i.e. multiple dimensions merging on each other and re-writing it with time travel].

Otherwise, it does NOT make any sense, and I think the writers need a lesson in more fiction writing.

...dude, the movie is called predestination, look up the predestination paradox. It's not a plothole or a fallacy, it's the very foundation of the plot.
