They failed on that front miserably. They also ruined Gwen in the third movie. The villains were great except for the third movie, venom itself as a villain was great but they ruined it with Eddie.

Honestly, the only thing worth salvaging from the original spiderman series is norman osborn, doctor octopus and J. Jonah Jameson.
When they first came out, there wasn't anything to really compare it to but now with a new series developing it's really easy to see that the previous installments weren't as good as the new ones. The sand man and the second goblin were terrible.

As for the movie itself, I loved it. Saw it on IMAX 3D and the special effects were incredible. The camera shots of spiderman in the air were extremely well done too. I like where Marvel is going with their movies.

I'd say that Osborn and Octavius were good casting. But outside of that, the casting was terrible.

superhero movies shouldnt make you spend 136 minutes to watch 5minutes of action. its a mediocre story thats hardly interesting.
i dont worship the batman movies as great movies in general, although i must say i really admire the batman vs joker storylines, but as far as superhero shit goes it definitely shits on most.
i cant really recall how the first one started because its been so damn long but the 2nd one starts off with a badass bank robbery by the joker..one of the most iconic villains imo for both superhero/regular movie shits
the 3rd starts with bane fucking up a cia airplane. idk what the fuck youre expecting from a superhero movie but im really not trying to watch 131 minutes of filler dialogue and then 5minutes of shitty action.
butwhatever hate on batman just read reviews comparing batman trilogy to spiderman or cpt murica or any other poopy superhero movie..the only other superhero movie that was ok was the avengers. but same issue with the avengers.
makes u watch a whole movie for that list bit of action but that list bit was pretty cool so whatevs

Really now? The marvel universe movies are pretty much universally acclaimed. But clearly the batman movies did better. Uhuh. This right here shows that no one can take you seriously.
