How about we leave good shows alone and "Re-write" the bad dream that ended Dexter.

The way he killed the Nazis was awesome. But how it ended was stupid.

How I would have done it:

1. Hank and Gomez dont die in the desert. The Nazis show up surround everyone, forcing Hank and Gomez to surrended, put a bag over Walts head and shoot their weapons a few times. The dont kill Jesse, Hank, and Gomez.... they take them hostage, but allow Walt to think they are dead. They drive off with the hostages in one of their vehicles, and Walt in another and drop him off somewhere random with his barrel. Since Walt thinks they are dead, and Hank made the call saying he captured Walt, his family and the DEA think the two agents are dead.
2. They keep Jesse, Hank, and Gomez in the pit, and use Jesse to cook Meth like they were.
3. Walt still flees town like he did, still with the thought that everyone is dead until a couple months when he is informed they are still making the blue meth. At this point he assumes Jesse is still alive..... and Hank and Gomez are still dead.
4. When Walt comes back, everything plays out the same way. He rigs the gun in his trunk like he did and shows up at the Nazi compound. When he jumps on Jesse and pushes the button everyone dies the same way. After, Jesse is pointing the Gun at Walt and they have their moment like they did on the show. Walt then will pulls out from his pocket a new identity for Jesse that he paid for when he met with the Vacuum guy. And tells Jesse there is a better life for him. At this point Jesse says 'there is something I have to show you'
5. Walt and Jesse walk to the pit and find Hank and Gomez in the put. (****NOTE: at this point as the viewer, you do not know Hank and Gomez are alive. You just like Walt think they were shot down in the desert) so Walt sticks a ladder in the pit, and Walt and Jesse get in the car and speed off.
6. "..... a few months later...." shows Walt and Jesse living on some small ranch out in the middle of no where, like Walt was living in. Drinking some beers and building desks and dressers etc.... Like Jesse was doing. This also ties back in to Jesse talking in AA how he enjoyed it. So it is Walt and Jesse... father and son type feeling living together happy building these things.
7. SHOW ENDS.

8. BONUS KICKER. Credits start showing for a few second, and cuts to a scene. To assume its a few years down the road. There is a man severely beaten with a cane on his throat. The camera only shows the mans face bloody, and the cane choking him. The camera then slowly pans up.... feet....legs....waste....chest..... and then its Walt Jr. wearing the 'Heisenberg Hat' and then he grins, it then cuts back to the credits and continues with the credits and the show finishes.

no one cares

it was perfect

You basically hate then ending because its real, dramatic, awesome, and sad. You want to change it into a typical shitty "feel good" bullshit ending.

This is basically the best description of why your (OP's) alternate ending sucks donkey balls.

I feel like the last episode had its flaws, but for the opposite reason that you (OP) thinks. Basically I think everything turned out very nice and conveniently for Walt. It was still a great episode, and I won't ignore the fact that this ending was really just a silver lining behind all the terrible shit that happened. But Felina doesn't come close to the dramatic closure and sense of tragedy that Ozymandias (ep14) does. To me, Ozymandias is the true ending to the series, and the following two episodes are a sort of denouement.

If I were to change anything, it would just be one thing. In the last scene I would have Walter finally try some of his product before he drops dead. I'd make him go all out... crush the biggest thickest line he can on a knife and take a huge inhale to get it all. Then he dies from a sort-of combination of the gunshot wound and ODing.

I would have liked to see a big twist at the end. Like Black Matter being Lydias resource and her boss. Also the DVD of Jesse was still in the house... Jesse should have taken it and found out (overhearing) were they hid Walters cash and taken it for himself + Time Skip after the credits.

WARNING*** POTENTIAL SPOILERS

I just finished the show. And I hated the ending.

In your opinion, what would have made the perfect ending?

walt jr dies wife goes to jail see a few beat up rape scenes

walt gets the baby and ends up in some nice sunny paradise.

or atleast walt could have started cooking his last batch before keeling over and dying/

Wouldve loved if at the end you see Walt working in the lab one last time also for dat dere nostalgia.

Wouldve loved it if the rig went wrong and jesse died trying to save Walt at the last minute, and then Walt telling Jesse he loved him like his own son.

But it was a pretty nice ending imo.

The whole point throughout the show was for Walt to leave his family money before he died, in what twisted world would he try to adopt jesse and have a father son relationship LOL
