I happened to love the walking dead. Its not like any other mundane zombie stuff.
The acting is actually pretty good. Id continue watching it. You would be surprised

s1 was good, and the first part of s2 was good, but after that it just continually digressed to the point where I haven't even bothered to finish s3 (I think I am on episode 5 or 6)

I feel like the production crew is just trying to milk the show as much as possible and fit as little into an episode as they can without ruining the show completely just so they can drag out the series and get more money out of it, but idk.... definitely not as good as of recently as it was at the start of the show in my opinion

also doesn't help that my favorite character is no longer in the show

I agree that the producers struggle getting things across at certain points in S3, but they certainly aren't milking anything. There is enough content in the comics to last for way longer than a show could hope to survive for so they would gain nothing from milking it.

There are still some good parts in the second half of S3, just not enough to carry it along as strongly as it had been going before. The things that made it bad end up being (mostly) wrapped up in a fitting way (still a couple lingering things that are weak though). And the episode where they visit their old hometown was probably overall my favorite of the series.

I still enjoy Rick as my favorite character, he's shown the full breadth of emotion in the series so far next to Shane, the rest are pretty caricatured one-dimensionally.
