I don't know what you mean by downgraded.

The shonen genre all feel the same to me, so it's a matter of how much you like the characters. I've been watching/reading it for ten years, invested in the characters and I enjoy the style of the art and brand of comedy.

I may not have given it fair chance, but from the bits I've seen the overall style to it just seems lame...

So some random fruit that gives people random powers? Ohh and the main characters power is being really stretchy... Yeah that's a pretty lame power. I'm assuming there would obviously be more to it than that, but the basis the show is built on seems weak...

Usually the animes I would consider "good" have several grounding types of logic and rules that give said fictional world acceptable limitations for the viewer. Some start off grounded and end up like dragon ball Z over 9000+ multiplied by another 10x and still going...

I really liked Death Note

Dragon Ball Z and GT were the only animes I liked to heart really imo. Also liked pokemon,yugioh,digimon when I was very young.... but that ain't really ''cool''. me and my buds were talking once about shit we watched when we were young and we all agreed the only true anime we actually liked even to this day if we ever watched again was DBZ. just my opinion though

either way ain't really a fan of Anime stuff.... I like watching FX related shows like Sons of Anarchy The Americans, American Horror story and other shows also liked The Shield ,Nip Tuck, Rescue me.... Bunch of great FX shows. Other than that I watch baseball, football, UFC which is probably one of my favorite things to watch love UFC..., sometimes boxing only if it's a big name fighting cause its dead to me imo. also like watching wrestling sometimes but that shit is dead to imo it's turned into violent cool entertaining show into a kids show/the john cena burying everyone show lol. Also like to watch To catch a predator and Lock up on the MSNBC channel. And if there is random movies with comedy or violence I like those to

I see what you are saying, but I think most shonens have arbitrary levels of power. A guy is stretchy, a guy has power levels that exceed a human because he's an alien, Naruto's tranform levels. I think you are making too much of the genre, it's about the characters.
