This films cinematography looks pretty great for this kind of film, grainy and lively, trough some filter maybe? The opening shot of the movie seemed to be filmed in one shot, including the thing with the motorcycles and all.

Cinematographer shot also Hunger and Shame which looked really classy too.

OMG, I finally realized what you were talking about. THE KNIFE SCENE and then the walk up into the "Motorcycle Cage". HOLY FUCK that whole sequence set the tone of the entire film for me, my eyes widened and stayed that way for the rest of the movie. From there on out, it had my full attention.

I guess you don't know too many children of law enforcement officers, because I've seen quite a few turn out very similar to Cooper's son.

I can totally see that happening. But when my gf, brother, wife, and I walked out of the theater we were just like... why the hell did he have such a ghetto jersey accent and no one else did. Anyways, I still liked it.

Yea, I mean, I guess just from my personal experience... it made sense to me. But, I think they even did a study somewhere that said that children of law enforcement officials are more likely to rebel into a life of crime at some point because of their strict upbringing.

Wait, he lived with his mom... AND THEN, came to live with his father. So I guess she lived in a ghetto town? Or, where he could have just picked it up. I was just under the assumption that he was just trying to be "cool" and talk "street" like most wanna-be tuff white high schoolers now a days. It's becoming a sad world to live in, I know...

A) Don't take your "mum's" advice on movies anymore.

B ) The movie is not overly complicated at all, so you shouldn't be "lost at the end".

c) "The Place Beyond the Pines" DOES exist, you just have to sort of figure it out for yourself by the end.

D) I assure you, the movie was anything but "bad". It was (in my opinion of coarse) a fantastic movie from start to finish.

if i took my mothers advice on film i would be a Hollywood goon only watching big budget films and never posting here.
obviously i'll be watching it i just thought it was humorous she was totally lost at the end.
