I think you misunderstood Clark does not struggle, and by struggle I mean he's neglected and abused. It seems like they are going to add a lot of substance where there is none and I think you've seen it yourself. @Bold This is what I mean, the writers are injecting conflict that does not exist because Clark is a healthy middle American child who's invincible. He has everything a child could dream of having, and his only conflict is not being able to show off.

as a consequence of not being able to show off though he has to pretend that he's normal and in his case normal means not being popular (playing a nerd like Clark kent the reporter). what happens when you're a nerd pre-college? you get bullied. that's the struggle he goes through by not being able to show off.

Confidence comes from what you know about yourself, not what others say about you. Explain again how an invincible child can be bullied?

Bullying can be psychological and/or physical. Clark doesn't "act" confident. He pretends to be a clumsy, nerdy, and a shy person. That "image" that he creates of himself is what attracts bullies. So while Clark may not take the bullying personally (e.g. has no effect on him), from an outsiders perspective (e.g. us) it is still bullying.

I'm sorry, you're just wrong. I'll repeat myself, confidence is what you know about yourself not what other people say about you. Clark would be aware he's special, even at a young age.. You cannot verbally abuse a child who can lift a bus, seeing how bullies attack weakness Clark's only issue would be restraining himself from proving he's special. It seems forced trying to give this movie conflict. I think of it this way: If someone walked up to me and said "You're a wimp, I could kick your ass" and I was superman? I wouldn't even say a word, I'd just have a little chuckle in my head and think "Bitch, I'm superman."
