No I hadn't, and that was pretty interesting, thank you for sharing it... I'll watch more of those.

idk, I really liked District 9, and looking at Elysium and Chappie (I didn't like either of them), I don't see how a follow up movie could live up to it.

Also much of District 9's charm was how original the concept was and how it turned the whole alien invasion conventions inside out while at the same time delivering a deeper message... a "District 10" would probably lose much of that originality, so I doubt it would work out as well as District 9 did. It would be interesting if they completely changed the genre, like how the Riddick movies went from survival scifi horror to a Dune-esque scifi to a survival/isolation genre... not all of them worked out as well as they could have, but at least they all felt fresh (well, the last one didn't during the second half of the film, which was basically a copy of the first movie... but the first half was a completely different concept to the previous 2 movies).

No doubt that District 10 will be more conventional, the charm of Disctrict 9 mainly came from the guerillia filmmaking in South Africa.
Nevertheless I am interested in the continuation of the story, could be interesting either way. As a Sequel which focuses on Wikus or a Prequel that shows us how everything went down.

But I have to agree that Bloomkamp lost a lot of his magic, probably hard to follow up one of the best Sci-Fi movies in recent years.

That one is great but the one in Vietnam is amazing imo. My favourite of the 3 short (20 min) films. I'd love a volume 2 if that's something he's planning on soing

Watched those Oats Studios shorts by Blokamp.

I liked Rakka and Zygote. God, Firebase and Cooking With Bill were ok-ish. Kapture was bad.

Dunkirk.

Just as shitty as I thought it would be.

It was well made but I really didn't want to see it. Really depressing. I didn't want to go but the people I was with wanted to see it. No one is even saying a word now, I don't think anyone enjoyed the experience.

There was also 2 people infront of us joking and laughing, fuck those people, seriously. Such little respect.

It was a well made movie. I don't see how anyone could enjoy it though.

Baby Driver

Very entertaining, Wright's style is just pure fun. Didn't like the character developement and the story was a bit weak. Nevertheless I realy enjoyed it.

12 Years A Slave (2013)

Directed by three guys, one of them being Brad Pitt. Based on a book with the same title that was written by Solomon Northup. True story of what Solomon experienced when he was kidnapped and sold in the black market of slavery in 1841. Really good movie and very touching, albeit really sad thoroughout. I love history and true stories, so I especially enjoyed this movie. Will rate it B+ (not A because I felt some things in the movie were "Hollywoodized"). Now I'm motivated to buy the book and read it...
