It has been a while. I forget did he cry like a bitch then too?

When he actually got down on the ground is when I think it went too far. Simply crying would have been acceptable. Or maybe some other middle ground between what you suggested and what actually happened...

Also keep in mind, he came upon T-dog torn to shreds, thinks Carol is dead.

This is how he reacted. This was before his son came up and pointed a gun at him (in his eyes) then shot the reanimated shane. He was on his knee's, crying, and yelling.

here's a better example without the music.

If you have never fallen to your knees in grief then A) you are too young to have experienced a terrible event in your life, or B) a sociopath.

Getting weak in the knees is a common emotional feeling.

Will check out these videos later. Can't atm.

If I recall correctly though Shane was his best friend at the beginning of all this? I'd imagine having to kill your own best friend would be somewhere near the same level emotionally as finding out your wife died giving birth.

If being a sociopath means I get to have cool sunglasses like those then I am fine with that.

I have never experienced losing someone in my life aside from a grandparent, but even in a more direct connection I would likely never handle grief like that. In his situation I would likely handle it with more anger than anything, but that is just me. Also he did not simply "fall to his knees".

I would argue a more expected emotional response is denial to some degree. With Rick not having seen her die directly and him being the leader and all I would expect him to Hold his feelings back until later when he was more or less alone.

Best friend, partner, brother from another mother. At that point he knew about Shane and Lori, but he is still his best friend and she is still his wife. So he's conflicted about his best friend's deteriorating mental state, the fact that he slept with his wife and got her pregnant(though they haven't actually determined who is really the father, there is some implication it is shane's but nothing definitive) and that he tried to kill him. While he has been there for him the entire time, through thick and thin.

Then when Maggie comes out covered in blood, Carl crying but not sobbing, trying to remain stoic in the midst of everything, Maggie bawling her eyes out with the baby in her arms. The memory of t-dog on rick's mind, and the possibility of Carol being dead as well. The rage of what Andrew did, and how he is partially responsible for it because he 1. didn't kill him personally or 2. didn't let him live. The rage of knowing that Shane's baby is responsible for his wife's death. So many emotions playing at one time.

With everything just crashing down, dropping to his knees and going into the fetal position and just keening is a reasonable response to everything that has happened to him. Everyone breaks, even Rick who has gone beyond the call of duty.

mother of god, that was a great episode.. can't wait to see how Rick deals with her death.

Hershel is a beast taking out zombies on 1 leg..

where do you guys think Carol made it off to? they didn't give much information during the talking dead..

yea the group thinks carols dead, when they came across tdogs body they saw some of her clothes(like a scarf or something)
then once outside hershel askes where they were and rick said carol and tdog both died, then he hears the cries of a baby
but carols still prolly runnin around the prison and i predict maybe daryl finds her

I'm simply sharing my opinion. Threads like this create arguments as well as discussion and there is nothing wrong with that...

I could see the possibility of a massive breakdown now that you put it like that I suppose. It does still seem a bit odd/out of place to me though. Maybe this is just because Lori has done such a great job of making her self so hated as an actor that the emotion attached to her even seem tarnished to me...

No lol, you're arguing just for the sake of arguing. It's not just as if his wife passed away while giving birth, there are so many more factors to take into account. And how can you tell what his reaction would be?

Just stop lol, this is going nowhere, just accept the scene and move on.

Says the person who seems to want to argue with me...

Arguments are a good thing in my opinion. They help you to see things that you normally wouldn't and strengthen your thoughts/mind.

Excuse me if I'm not simply the type of person to turn off my mind and go blank while I watch shows.
